Image Editing
microCMS includes a variety of image editing features.
After uploading an image, simply add parameters to the image URL to resize, adjust quality, and optimize delivery for each device—helping improve page speed and SEO.
Image editing is powered by the imgix API.
imgix is an image CDN that lets you transform images in real time via URL parameters. imgix API usage is included in your microCMS plan—no separate imgix contract required.
Works for uploads from image fields and from the rich text editor.

Image size
Used when adjusting image width and height.
You can set fixed dimensions, aspect ratios, and crop sizes in detail.
Output quality
Used to control output quality. Values range from 0 to 100.

Resolution & screen size
Used to deliver the right image size across devices from a single source image.
Default is 1; maximum is 8.
Format
Retrieve image metadata or convert images to WebP format.
WebP is a next-generation image format developed by Google that maintains quality while achieving high compression rates.
It combines lossy compression like JPEG and lossless compression like PNG, so you can preserve fine detail and efficiently compress transparent backgrounds.
Converting to WebP can also speed up your site, which benefits SEO.
Text
Used to overlay text on images.
You can specify text color, font, size, display area, outline width, outline color, padding, and width.
Border
Used to add borders to images.
You can specify border width and color.
Colors are specified in hexadecimal: RGB, ARGB, RRGGBB, or AARRGGBB.
